Ms. Barbara’s 5 Flavor Pound Cake (With Glaze)

Ingredients (Cake)
1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
1/2 cup Crisco shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs, well beaten
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon each: coconut, butter, lemon, rum, and vanilla extracts

Directions (Cake)
In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, combine flour and baking powder.Add to cream mixture alternately with milk.
Stir in flavorings one at a time.
Spoon into a greased 10-inch tube pan.
Bake in a 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.

Ingredients (Glaze)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon each: coconut, butter, lemon, rum, and vanilla extracts

Directions (Glaze)
In a saucepan, combine all ingredients and gently bring to a boil.
Pour over cake in pan.
Cool the cake in the pan about 10 minutes before turning out.

Yields: 14 to 16 pieces
