Crust
2 ½ cups flour
1 cup margarine (cut small)
½ cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
Mix the above ingredients until fine crumbs. Press into a 15x10x1” pan. Bake 20 to 30 minutes at 350º or until golden brown.
Filling
4 eggs
1 cup white corn syrup
½ cup evaporated milk
1 ½ cup sugar
3 TBS melted margarine
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
2 ½ cups chopped pecans
Directions
In a mixing bowl combine eggs, syrup, milk, butter, and vanilla. Mix until well blended. Stir in pecans. Mix well again. Pour over hot crust. Spread evenly. Bake for 25 minutes or until filling around edges is firm and center is slightly firm. Cool, cut into bars. (Makes about 48 small bars or 24 large bars.)
